Mount reprised his role as Black Bolt earlier this year, and with short screentime, it is unclear if the actor will return as the character in future MCU projects.
Nevertheless, Mount has had quite a busy year in 2022, appearing in another popular franchise,Star Trek. Whilst it can be hard stepping into the shoes of a character who is already an icon, Mount seemed impressively unfazed by the task as he took to playing Captain Pike inStar Trek: DiscoveryandStar Trek: Strange New Worldswith apparent ease. It should be no surprise, as the actor has been producing grade A performances throughout his career though leading roles have been rarer for him.
Star Trek: Discovery (2017-) - 7.0
Though Star Trek: Discovery continues to be a highly successful show in its own right as it heads intoseason 5next year, it was season 2 that brought Anson Mount his way into the Star Trek universe. The seriesfollows the crew of the starship Discovery as they navigate a galaxy torn up by a new war.

The tease of a distress signal from Captain Pike in season 1 sets up the character's entrance, but many were still dubious about whether bringing in the character was a good idea. However, Mount was such a perfect casting choice that his addition to the show proved one of the best parts of the season, emulating the attitude and spunk of previous Captain Pike portrayals and leaving many wanting more.
Boiler Room (2000) - 7.0
Although it wasn't until later that Vin Diesel had his best movies, this crime drama from the start of the century helped provide a stepping stone for that star's career as well as Anson Mount's. Also starringGiovanni Ribisi, Nia Long, and Ben Affleck, Boiler Room's tense story of a college dropout discovering the dark secrets behind a shady brokerage firm features some great performances.
Unfortunately, there isn't much room for Mount to stand out as he features only as one of several brokers that the central character encounters along the way. Nevertheless, the movie received generally positive reviews from critics, and fans also found it easy to like the movie's intriguing thrills.
Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness (2022) - 7.0
Although Anson Mount's turn as Black Bolt in Marvel's Inhumans failed to rescue a show that had too generic a story and weak characters, his reprisal of the character forDoctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness turned out to be more successful. Although not everyone lovedits dimension-hopping chaos, the Earth-838 versions of classic Marvel characters wereone of the best parts.
Although none of the members of the Illuminati had hugely important roles in the movie, Mount still had a moment to make an impact with his acting, as Wanda sealed his mouth closed before killing him in an equally horrific way. The actor more than manages to get across the character's abject terror in one of the movie's mostmemorable and gruesome moments.
Tully (2000) - 7.3
Not to be confused with 2018's Tully starring Charlize Theron, Tully stars Anson Mount as the titular TullyRussell Coates Jr., an outgoing womanizer living with his father and introverted brother in rural Nebraska. Like the best indie dramas, the movie isn't afraid to take its time as it slowly builds upaportrait of rural life.

By the end of the movie, viewers can't help but be engrossed as the family secret- that Tully's confident demeanor disguised so well - is finally left out in the open. Mount puts up a particularly impressive performance as the title character, given Tully actually marked his feature debut.
Line Of Fire (2003-2005) - 7.3
Although it was short-lived, with two episodes of the show's 13 ultimately going unaired, Line of Fire's intriguing premise didn't go unnoticed by critics and fans during its run. The showweaves the contrasting storylines of rookie FBI agents investigating a murder and a mob boss operating in the same town but rarely brings them together.
Perhaps, the biggest link between the two is the FBI agent working undercover to investigate the mob, who's played charmingly by Anson Mount. Though the plot doesn't focus on his character too often, he's one of the show's best recurring charactersand helps make it worth watching despite how suddenly the show came to an end.
Dota: Dragon's Blood (2021-) - 7.8
Turning the lore from a video game into a series can be a difficult task, but Anson Mount happens to lend his voice to one of the best video game adaptations in Dota: Dragon's Blood. Its basis is in the expansive lore thatsurrounds the MOBA title, but its tale of a young talented Dragon Knight and a princess would likely delight any fantasy fan.
Mount lends his voice toa different Dragon Knight, Kaden, who is considered the most powerful knight in the order. Appeared in seven out of the 16 episodes, a legendary character requires a charismatic voice, so it's clear why the actor was chosen for the part.
Third Watch (1999-2005) - 7.9
Plenty of shows have recognized the dramatic potential of emergency responders, but Third Watch is slightly unusual in following thepolice officers, firemen, and paramedics of a fictional New York precinct, allowing it to show how the three interact. Although the show kept up a fast pace, fans appreciated the way it took time to flesh out its characters.
Mount only appeared in 5 episodes of the show as the no-nonsense Dr. Montville, and, although he didn't get much time to develop as a character, he did have his moments, including getting to deliver a baby in "Kim's Hope Chest." As he only appeared in the first two seasons, it marks one of his earliest TV roles.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (2022-) - 8.2
In Anson Mount's most recent TV appearance, the actor got the opportunity to reprise his role as Captain Pike in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Still set years before the events of The Original Series, the show follows Pike and the crew of the USS Enterprise in their exploration of the galaxy.

Although not as ambitious as Discovery, the show received praise for how its episodic structure and close-knit feel emulate an older era of Star Trek. Mount's choice toplay the character his own wayrather than simply doing an impression ofJeffrey Hunter's Pike was also well received as his version of the character is one of the show's strongest points.
Hell On Wheels (2011-2016) -8.3
In one of his darkest lead performances, Mount plays a former Confederate soldier who joins the construction of the first transcontinental railroad in hopes of tracking down and getting his revenge on the Union soldiers that killed his wife in Hell on Wheels. The show dramatizes the fascinating events that led to the creation of theUnion Pacific Railroad along with the characters central to it and the hardships they endured.
Whilst reviews of the show were initially mixed, with the sheer amount of different characters and elements at play one of the key issues for critics, it started to hit its stride in later seasons, and audiences particularly enjoyed its epic depiction of a period that is rarely shown in so much detail. Mount also has plenty of scene-stealing moments, too, which doesn't hurt the show's quality.
Lost (2004-2010) - 8.3
Though it's only a coincidence that Anson Mount's single appearance in Lost happened to be in its most-watched episode, which is the season 2 pilot, according to Business Insider, he had a memorable enoughperformance that it makes for a notable point in his filmography. Lost'sconstant twists and turns are what's most remembered about the show, as well as its regrettable finale, but great performances certainly didn't hurt its success.
As a non-recurring side character, it's clear that Mount gives his all as he playsSarah's former fiancé, whorealizes his future is in jeopardy in the wake ofher accident and wants to simply run away. Whilst Sarah and Jack get more attention, it's the fact that he still manages to be compelling in his scenes that makes it remarkable.
